Mace Security International and SoloMetrics have announced a joint venture to sell integrated security solutions and defense products.

“This partnership will create unprecedented opportunities in the area of security,” John J. McCann, president and CEO of Mace Security International said.

According to the company, SoloMetrics is a Chicago-based research and development company that invents and assembles technologies addressing gaps in security and access control, time and attendance, business process automation and location-based tracking systems. Many of the company’s products are biometric.

Mace is a manufacturer and provider of personal defence products.

Under the new partnership – named SoloMace — SoloMetrics will work with Mace and its partners to create integrated products utilizing SoloMetrics’ portfolio of patents and hardware, which includes biometrics, pattern and gesture recognition capabilities.

SoloMace is set to launch in the summer of 2014.

“This will transform what it means to protect yourself and engage law enforcement in new ways,” McCann said.
