BIO-key International has added three new Directors to its board and appointed the company’s current CEO, Michael DePasquale, as Chairman.

“As we position BIO-key for the next phase of growth and development, we feel it is important to expand the scope of our Board of Directors,” DePasquale said. “These three new Directors have ideal experiences and talents to help guide and promote BIO-key through this very exciting time. We are proud and fortunate to have such deep and influential resources supporting the company.”

BiometricUpdate.com recently had a chance to chat with DePasquale about his own priorities as chief executive, as well as BIO-key’s current trajectory. Read the full interview here.

New board members include Barbara Rivera, Thomas E. Bush and Thomas Gilley.

According to the company, Rivera is currently President and GM of Experian Corporations U.S. Public Sector Division. Previously, she worked with companies including IBM, SAP and Oracle.

Bush worked for the FBI for more than 30 years in the agency’s Identification Division and Information Resources Division, eventually becoming Director of the CJIS division.

Gilley is an entrepreneur who gained corporate product management at Apple Computer, as an engineer and R&D manager in the Advance Technology Group. He’s also founded several successful companies, including Meeting Technology, FutureTel and PicoStar.

The company has also announced the retirement of Tom Colatosti and Jeffrey May.

“We owe Tom and Jeff a great debt of gratitude and thanks for their guidance and support as they have been instrumental in BIO-key’s strategic development and successes over the last twelve years,” DePasquale said. “Well capitalized, with new Sales and Board Leadership, I believe BIO-key is better positioned today than at any time in its past and we are very excited about the opportunities ahead.”
