Precise Biometrics launches Tactivo for iPad mini and iPad Air

 

Precise Biometrics has just launched its first smart casing for the iPad mini, and also for the iPad Air.

According to the company, Tactivo for iPad mini has achieved MFi certification from Apple as well as approval as a logical access control system mobile transparent readers under the FIPS 201 testing program. In addition, says the company, Tactivo for iPad Air is currently undergoing its final certifications and is expected to be ready for launch in the near future.

Along with the two new Tactivo cases, Precise Biometrics has also launched a silicon Guardian Case that covers and protects both the Tactivo and the iPad.

These new Tactivos include smart card readers, which support both traditional smart cards, such as the US Government PIV and CAC cards, as well as the Swedish SITHS card and payment chip cards.

Precise says the company will be showing off these new Tactivo devices at Connect:ID, set to take place next week in Washington, DC.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, Precise Biometrics recently published its year-end report for 2013, which showed the group’s net sales for the year was SEK 24.9 million (US $3.84 million) and for the fourth quarter, sales totalled SEK 2.9 million (US $450k).
