ImageWare Systems has partnered with IBM to bring the company’s multi-modal biometrics user authentication and cloud-based identity management platform to the IBM Cloud Platform, with the code name “BlueMix.”

According to the company, with BlueMix, users have access to ImageWare’s Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) and can deploy IWS solutions when building applications in BlueMix, which may include out-of-band authentication, mobile biometrics, mobile payment, desktop security or patient engagement.

A key component of the new solution is IWS’ GoCloudID IDaaS platform for biometric enrollment and verification. In addition to being algorithm and hardware agnostic, the company says, GoCLoudID can be deployed globally as an enterprise end-to-end or modular solution. This also includes an SDK.

“Worldwide mobile device payments are expected to reach $400 billion by 2015, with more and more mobile devices being designed with biometric features,” Jim Miller, CEO of ImageWare Systems said. “It is critical we work with leading technology companies, like IBM, to effectively and comprehensively address identity and access management security challenges facing businesses and consumers in the new big-data, smart mobile world. For more than a decade, we have been working in a variety of large and demanding environments. With IBM, we have a partner who delivers world-class cloud services for public, on-premise and private infrastructure platforms.”

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, ImageWare Systems also recently partnered with Fujitsu for a new pay-as-you-go multimodal biometric cloud identity and authentication service.
