FPC receives $10.6m touch fingerprint sensor order

Fingerprint Cards announced it received an order for its touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025 from one of its module partners.

The announcement comes a couple weeks after Fingerprint Cards announced it received a touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025 order valued at 75 million SEK (USD $8.6 million) from a module partner.

Since FPC did not disclose the name of the company in its press release, it is unclear if this most recent order is from the same module partner.

The sensors, which will be delivered for the second quarter, will be used by smartphone manufacturers in China.

The order is valued at 90 MSEK (USD $10.6 million), which is included in its previously reported revenue guidance of 1,000 MSEK (USD $117.6 million) for 2015.

“In addition to the order announced March 19, this order also applies to deliveries of FPC1025,” said Jörgen Lantto, acting president and CEO of FPC. “As previously communicated we are partnering with several module vendors and these orders confirm that our partners will use FPC1025 for deliveries to smartphone manufacturers in China.”
