FPC raises preliminary Q3 2015 revenues to $116 M

Fingerprint Cards (FPC) has reported its preliminary revenue estimates for the third quarter of 2015 amounted to around 960 MSEK (US $116 million), which exceeds its previous guidance of around 860 MSEK (US $104 million).

Based on FPC’s further strengthened delivery capacity and a continued growing demand for its fingerprint products, the revenues for the fourth quarter 2015 is estimated to be higher than during the third quarter.

As a result, FPC’s revenue guidance for 2015 has been raised from around 2500 MSEK (US $303 million) to more than 2500 MSEK (US $303 million).

FPC will publish its complete quarterly earnings report on November 5, which will include an updated revenue guidance for the fourth quarter 2015.

The company received a number of large orders during the latter part of the third quarter, resulting in an order backlog of more than 1700 MSEK (US $206 million) as of September 30.

The order backlog relates to delivery of FPC fingerprint sensors during fourth quarter 2015 and first quarter 2016.

Previously reported, Precise Biometrics has partnered with Fingerprint Cards (FPC) to integrate their respective fingerprint technologies in the new China-based smartphone, Coolpad Shine.
