Netatmo introduces smart security camera at CES

This week at CES, French connected lifestyle firm Netatmo unveiled Presence, an outdoor security camera featuring advanced face recognition able to detect, in real-time, particular people, pets and even cars.

The camera then notifies the home owner through its mobile app if something is detected in the monitored area.

Smart-Sight technology is embedded in Presence. Smart-Sight uses a deep learning algorithm to detect the presence of people, animals and cars.

The camera features an infrared night vision and integrated floodlight. When the camera is activated, it can capture bright color HD video even in the middle of the night.

Presence stores video locally on an internal SD card and can be set up to transfer video to a personal FTP server. Data transmission from the camera to a smartphone is secured with bank-level encryption.

Netatmo says the camera is easy to install, replacing an existing outdoor light. Setup is easy, and it connects to a home WiFi router.

According to the company, Presence will be available in September 2016.
