Nok Nok Labs launches quick start program for mobile biometric ID

Nok Nok Labs recently launched a program for mobile network operators that allows them to integrate customer identity, authentication and biometrics enablement into their offerings.

The company’s “Jumpstart Program for Mobile Connect” program will help wireless carriers deliver a biometric-enabled, FIDO-certified customer authentication experience that increases revenue and loyalty with their own customers as well as opening the door to additional commerce services and partnerships.

Mobile Connect, a service from Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA), the world’s largest mobile trade organization, enables customers to create and manage a digital universal identity via a single log-in solution. The service securely authenticates users, enabling them to digitally confirm their identity and their credentials and grant safe online access to mobile and digital services such as e-commerce, banking, health and digital entertainment, and e-government, via their mobile phones. It works by employing the user’s unique mobile number, combined with a unique PIN for more secure use cases, to verify and grant online access anywhere.

The NNL JumpStart Program for Mobile Connect allows MNOs to rapidly build an identity strategy that better engages customers either directly, via simplifying access to an MNO’s own services, or indirectly, by providing solutions to third-party service providers via Mobile Connect, with greater convenience and improved security.

Using the Nok Nok Labs S3 Authentication Suite, the “jumpstart program” includes the following components:

• Strategy Assessment – aligning strategic initiatives around identity as a key building block via the Mobile Connect platform;
• Proof of Concept – accelerated implementation of prototypes of customer solutions; and
• Production – Internet-scale deployment and monetization.

S3 is the industry’s first authentication suite built from the ground up using FIDO authentication protocols that can integrate a wide range of FIDO Certified authenticators supporting fingerprint biometrics, voice biometrics, face biometrics, secure elements, trusted platform modules and removable tokens. The suite is known for unifying operational and data silos. The “jumpstart program” makes it easier for wireless carriers to implement the suite and its benefits into their offerings.
