ASUS selects Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensors for the ZenFone AR

Synaptics‘ Natural ID fingerprint sensors and ClearPad touchscreen controllers are featured on the new ASUS ZenFone AR smartphone.

Synaptics’ high-performance Natural ID fingerprint sensors are available with SentryPoint technology, giving OEMs a wide-range of secure authentication features including match-in-sensor technology, Quantum Matcher with PurePrint anti-spoof technology, and SecureLink 256-bit AES with TLS 1.2 encryption.

“We are very excited about the newly launched ASUS ZenFone AR, the world’s first Tango enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone. The ZenFone AR was built for augmented reality, and thanks to Synaptics, adding high-performance touch, and the convenience and security of fingerprint biometrics was an important upgrade,” said Rangoon Chang, ASUS General Manager, Mobile Computing Business Unit, ASUS.

“ASUS is an innovative leader and Synaptics is honored to be featured on their new ZenFone AR smartphones. We look forward to working together on future projects and help to deliver high-performance touch and display solutions, and convenient, highly secure biometric solutions for their customers,” said Anthony Gioeli, vice president of marketing, Biometrics Product Division, Synaptics.

Earlier this week, Synaptics announced that Huawei selected Synaptics TouchView TDDI and Natural ID fingerprint sensors for their new Changxiang 6S smartphones.
