Bio-Metrica releases multi-factor biometric ID system
Bio-Metrica has released a modular, multi-factor biometric identification system (BIS), which securely enrolls and identifies individuals using various identification and authentication methods.
The scalable and customizable BIS enables users to select a biometric technology, including fingerprint, face, iris, signature, vein, and others.
BIS delivers a multi-biometric system over a range of devices, including stationery systems, laptops and handheld devices.
Built on the company’s BII architecture, BIS can be deployed on local servers or as the cloud-based CloudBII to store collected information across several applications.
With BIS, any organization can implement a combination of biometric identification methods using a selection of modules. The basic modules include offline / online enrollment, verification/identification, investigation, and reports.
Other modules can also be added to expand BIS’s functionality so that it can be customized for any deployment across different verticals, such as verifying security guards and government employees, and healthcare or financial benefits distribution applications.
The enrollment module ensures a simplified multi-biometric enrollment process, while the verification/identification module provides multi-factor authentication (MFA) to identify previously enrolled individuals.
The investigation module enables users to find and compare duplicate biographical and biometric and take appropriate action.
Finally, the reports module lets users create granular reports to analyze exploit collected data.
All BIS components are compliant with many international standards — including ISO, ANSI, and ICAO — and can be customized to meet other standards.
“BIS gives organizations of any size the ability to implement a modular, customizable, and scalable, Multi-Biometric Identification System,” said Ronen Yacobi, founder of Bio-Metrica LLC, “With BIS, practically any government or commercial customer can utilize this cutting edge technology and have an effective identification system with both better security and accountability implemented within time and budget constraints for a cost effective price.”
Bio-Metrica is currently offering a free, two week evaluation of BISTM on its website.
In a Q&A interview with BiometricUpdate.com, Bio-Metrica founder and CEO Ronny Yacobi discussed the advantages of using a multi-factor authentication framework, key trends in the biometrics market and the main challenges creating a Mobile Biometrics Unit (MBU) for the registration of pensioners for the Ghana Social Security National Trust.
