Aware releases cloud-based biometric identification solution

Aware has released Indigo|Onboard, the first in the company’s new Indigo line of cloud-based solutions that provide biometric search functionality either as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription or as a server-based software license.

Indigo|Onboard improves the onboarding process with advanced identity management capabilities, enabling organizations to biometric search to quickly determine if a new customer or employee has an existing identity record in the system.

As a result, organizations can detect attempts at identity fraud as well as prevent any duplicate identity records.

Using the solution, companies can conduct browser-based capture of fingerprints and faces, and scalable one-to-many search of millions of records.

Indigo|Onboard separates the enrollment and investigation processes into two asynchronous tasks so they can be performed and controlled by employees with different skillsets and credentials.

Through this approach, fingerprint data is searched against all records previously enrolled in the system.

Positive search results are then queued in a worklist, with each work item including alerts and the associated ID numbers and facial images. The work items can be further investigated, and then either closed or escalated.

Indigo|Onboard is built upon Aware’s Biometric Services Platform (BioSP), and includes WebEnroll, a browser-based biometric enrollment application used by thousands and recently optimized for HTML5.

The solution also offers optional extensions including one that uses URC|Mobile, which enables the biometric verification of employees or customers against data in Indigo|Onboard using an Android-based tablet.

Another extension is powered by Aware’s Inquire identity analytics technology and detects errors and fraud indicators in identity data.

“Indigo|Onboard aims to strike a balance between utility and simplicity, enabling compelling identity management functions without requiring installation or integration of new software but allowing for enhancements,” David Benini, VP of marketing at Aware, said. “The power of biometric search has never been so accessible.”

Aware will demonstrate Indigo|Onboard and other biometric solutions this week at ID4Africa in Windhoek, Namibia and next week at Seamless Middle East in Dubai and connect:ID in Washington DC.

Last month the company announced that Richard P. Moberg resigned as co-Chief Executive Officer and co-President and Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the company citing a desire to retire.
