Gemalto announced that Chief Financial Officer Jacques Tierny is leaving the company to pursue other activities.

“Jacques has been a key contributor to Gemalto over the last 10 years, overseeing the development and the diversification of the company,” commented CEO Philippe Vallee. “His remarkable expertise in finance, his professionalism as well as his team spirit were instrumental during all these years of intense activity.”

Virginie Duperat-Vergne will undergo an induction program and transition period with Tierny before joining the company as CFO on January 1, 2018.

“Virginie Duperat-Vergne, 42, is a seasoned finance executive and was group deputy chief financial officer and a member of the senior leadership team at TechnipFMC,” said Vallee.

Just last month it was revealed that Gemalto biometric ePassport technologies are currently being used in over 30 different countries, including Algeria, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Morocco, Peru, Portugal, Norway, Singapore, Sweden and the United States.
