Veridos strengthens verification portfolio and North American presence with E-Seek acquisition

Veridos has acquired ID card verification technology provider E-Seek and merged the companies to strengthen its authentication portfolio and North American presence.

E-Seek’s reading devices with patented image capturing technology for government-issued driver’s licenses and ID cards ensure quick and accurate capture of security features and personal data contained on cards or in card barcodes, and compliments Veridos’ software expertise, according to the announcement.

“The need for fast and reliable verification of ID documents is increasing with the steadily rising numbers of travelers. Driver’s licenses are often used as identification in North America, and E-Seek’s devices improve the authentication process at airports especially for such documents”, explains Veridos CEO Hans Wolfgang Kunz. “This acquisition brings together complementary products. E-Seek’s hardware expertise and Veridos’s proven software capabilities enable us to offer state-of-the-art ID card authentication solutions. The resulting synergies allows us to offer our customers an even broader portfolio of identity solutions.”

The California-based E-Seek was founded in 1999, and currently offers four different card-reading hardware products.

Veridos recently announced it will provide its VeriGO DriveID platform to Kosovo for use in a mobile driver’s license app.
