Fingerprint Cards announces collaborations for FIDO compliant USB enterprise security devices

Fingerprint Cards has announced a pair of partnerships to provide fingerprint sensors for USB security devices. Indian cybersecurity firm Ensurity will launch a range of FIDO-compliant USB devices for the enterprise data storage market developed in strategic collaboration with FPC, while Feitian will launch of a new line of FIDO2 compliant USB security keys for corporate online access control.

Ensurity will launch its ThinC devices, featuring encrypted storage and multi-user access, to the Indian market by the end of June. The devices can also be used to authenticate users for VPN access and single sign-on. The collaboration also covers work on cloud identity management solutions.

“These devices will address the market needs of enterprises and provide secure shareable storage and safe remote computing,” Ensurity co-founder and CEO Chakradhar Kommera told The Hindu Business Line. Kommera also cited a report that India’s biometrics market will grow at a 31 percent CAGR through 2021.

Fetian’s BioPass FIDO2 product will provide authentication for access to corporate networks, apps, and services with an integrated touch sensor from Fingerprint Cards. The keys work with Windows Hello, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome, according to the announcement.

Microsoft and Google revealed FIDO2 implementations, bringing FIDO authentication standards to websites, at RSA in April.
