Yoti adds UK police veteran to build partnerships and work with policy-makers

Yoti has appointed Gordon Scobbie as Regional Business Growth and Partnerships Executive for Scotland to leverage his experience with public sector digital transformation in its work with the country’s Improvement Service.

Scobbie has served in several positions in UK policing, and created a national policing portfolio to help deal with digital challenges, according to a blog post on the appointment. His role will include advising decision makers on how government policy and legislation should evolve, and building relationships ahead of some new projects Yoti plans to deliver in Scotland this year.

“I like that Yoti really understands the importance of integrity, ethics and values in a digital age, particularly at a time when the public are becoming increasingly worried about intrusion into their lives by technology companies,” Scobbie says. “Working for a company I believe in and that shares my personal values is so important to me.”

Yoti recently announced its Age Scan service will soon provide AI-powered age estimation for retail self-checkout systems.
