SAFR and MOBOTIX partnership brings facial biometrics to major European museum
SAFR biometric facial recognition from RealNetworks has been deployed to a high-profile museum in Europe on MOBOTIX cameras to provide live analytics, the companies announced, along with details of their partnership.
The museum deployment provides visitor counts for different times of day, with demographic breakdowns, and the same system can also perform sentiment analysis. The companies say the solution is enabled by the versatility and precision of MOBOTIX cameras and the equally precise SAFR facial recognition platform.
“Artificial Intelligence will play an increasingly important role in all areas of IT, meaning video surveillance as well – and with Konica Minolta, we have a leading technology partner by our side in this area,” explains Christian Heller, MOBOTIX Sales Director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “In conjunction with our new openness and our drive to produce cyber-safe products and solutions, we can work with our strategic partners to strengthen the market and develop new solutions for a variety of vertical markets,” he adds.
The partnership was originally formed in 2017, and the companies see major market potential for joint projects and customized solutions, according to the joint announcement.
“MOBOTIX cameras have an excellent market reputation for high quality, cyber security, reliability and direct applicability for facial recognition. Our partnership has grown rapidly as we also share the same values, such as a commitment to quality, innovation, data security and building strategic partnerships to generate synergies for both our companies and our customers,” says Mathias Grünwald, Senior Lead Account & Service Management at RealNetworks.
Thomas Lausten, CEO of MOBOTIX AG says the company has evolved to become a base platform for a variety of machine vision tasks. Since Lausten joined the company in June, 2017, MOBOTIX has added openness and flexibility to the company’s established high-security. All MOBOTIX products are ONVIF compliant, with a dedicated NAS product, and the MOBITIX Move PTZ camera.
“Since MOBOTIX cameras were designed as the best video surveillance cameras and SAFR is regarded as the leading facial recognition platform for live video, together, we are able to deliver solutions that go far beyond recognition,” says Grünwald.
