Ping Identity to provide identity management for Bentley Systems business applications

Software developer Bentley Systems has chosen the Ping Intelligent Identity platform to provide user authentication for secure access to more than 500 business applications, according to a company announcement. Bentley says Ping Identity will help it deliver exceptional user experiences, while strengthening its ability to bring applications quickly to market and build a flexible data model to support current and future compliance requirements.

Ping Identity will provide Bentley with its PingFederate, PingAccess, PingDataGovernance and PingDirectory technologies to increase the flexibility of its solutions. PingFederate will provide secure authentication and standards-based single sign-on (SSO) for Bentley users, while PingAccess will enable centralized authentication and architectural flexibility. PingDataGovernance gives organizations fine-grained access controls for identity data and APIs, and PingDirectory stores identity data securely at scale.

Bentley Systems selected Ping Identity because of its strict standards adherence, which supports Bentley Systems’ goal of providing an increasingly open and extensible offering, the companies say.

“From our first interaction with Ping Identity, it’s been clear to us that the organization is dedicated to our successful deployment and is a true technology partner,” says Lori Hufford, vice president of Digital Foundations, at Bentley Systems. “As a global company, having flexibility in the solutions that support our business and user base is essential. Ping offers that flexibility, while also providing standards leadership to help advance our user experience and digital priorities.”

PingFederate, PingAccess, and PingDirectory were all updated to make them more flexible and further reduce friction in user experience earlier this year.
