HID Global to target Indian biometrics and smart card market in 2020

India will be a major emerging target market for HID Global in 2020, Indian publication Dataquest reports as the company showed off its latest biometric and ID card products at the Smart Cards Expo 2019 in Delhi.

HID showcased its Lumidigm V-series fingerprint sensors and modules, its DigitalPersona optical and capacitive single fingerprint modules and readers which can support FIPS 201 PIV and Mobile ID FAP 30 standards, and card issuance and production products in the FARGO line.

“India is a very important emerging market for HID Global and events like Smart Cards Expo offer us the perfect opportunity to showcase our latest products,” comments HID Global for South Asia Secure Issuance Sales Head Lalit Agarwal. “Through such platforms, we can tap into the various market opportunities and continue to expand our market in Asia.”

The company also demonstrated its OMNIKEY multi-interface credential readers and iCLASS SE access control platform.

A recent acquisition spree by HID Global, which brought the DigitalPersona brand on board along with the rest of Crossmatch a year ago, has also included De La Rue’s Citizen Identity business, and PKI provider HydrantID earlier this month.
