Aware appoints company veteran Robert Mungovan Chief Commercial Officer

 

Just two weeks after announcing a new CEO Aware has appointed Robert M. Mungovan chief commercial officer effective October 1, 2019.

Mungovan has been with Aware since June 1997 and has served as vice president, biometrics since 2000. He previously served as Aware’s sales and marketing manager, biometrics and imaging from 1997 to 2000. Mungovan received a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Boston College, and a Master’s degree in Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

“We’re pleased to name Rob as the chief commercial officer of Aware, leveraging his expertise and industry knowledge to lead our strategic growth initiatives,” says Bob Eckel, Aware’s CEO and president. “Over the past several years, Rob has played a key role in the development of Aware’s biometric software business and we look forward to his continued efforts in promoting our leading biometric software solutions in the government and the commercial markets.”

Aware vice president of marketing and product David Benini recently spoke with Biometric Update about the company’s new white paper “Liveness detection in biometrics is essential for mobile authentication and onboarding.”
