UT Austin deploys Clear biometrics for frictionless fan access to football games

Clear announced a new partnership with the University of Texas at Austin that will allow Longhorns fans to verify their identity for fast and frictionless access into the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. This is the first college athletic program to deploy Clear’s nationwide biometric identity membership platform.

University students who have a valid school email address and government-issued ID can enroll in Clear for free on-site, or sign up for a Clear Plus membership, which is good for all 60+ locations in Clear’s nationwide network, at a significantly discounted rate. Once enrolled, fans can get from the gate to their seat with just a tap of the finger and a scan of their ticket.

Clear’s lane and enrollment pods will be available next to Gate 25 during all remaining regular-season home games. Longhorns fans can begin their free enrollment online on the Clear website.

“We’re always looking for ways to enhance the fan experience at our athletics venues,” says Chris Del Conte, VP and Director of Athletics at the University of Texas. “This partnership provides Longhorns fans with a convenient option that will certainly do that while making our stadium operations more efficient. We’re thrilled to be the first athletic department in the country providing this service to our fans.”

Clear’s biometric identity membership platform is available in more than 60 airports and sports stadiums across the United States and in select cities can be used to buy food and drinks and prove legal age for alcohol purchases. There are more than 3.8 million Clear members in the United States.

Clear is certified as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
