DTIS appoints former TSA exec as COO and Executive VP

Digital Trusted Identity Services (DTIS) has appointed Former TSA leader and acquisition and procurement executive, Ronald Gallihugh, as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, the company announced.

DTIS was founded by Daon in partnership with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

“Ron is a game-changer for DTIS,” said AAAE President and CEO, Todd Hauptli. “His years of experience operating in complex environments while demonstrating results will serve DTIS well and will allow us to offer cutting-edge solutions to the thorny operational challenges our members face.”

Gallihugh will manage the company’s growth strategies in the aviation sector. His previous experience includes an 11-year tenure at the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), where he most recently served as Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator for Enterprise Support. Here he led a team of more than 1,900 employees, oversaw a $2 billion budget and critical functions such as human capital, training and development, contracts and procurement, information technology, and security and administrative services.

Gallihugh was involved in a number of TSA’s high-profile projects, including its strategy to integrate advanced Computer Technology screening features into existing TSA efforts, resolving cybersecurity policy issues related to the Credential Authentication Technology platform, and co-leading the development of the Acquisition Program Management office, an organization with 150 personnel and $1.3 billion in funding. Other collaborations include the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Canadian Air Transport Security Administration.

DTIS is an accredited FBI Channeler and TSA-authorized Designated Aviation Channeler (DAC), auditing workers at over 300 airports and airlines nationwide. DTIS provides identity related services such as fingerprint, biometric and biographic processing, along with its advanced multi-tenant App-Based Transportation (ABT) Clearinghouse, which airports use to track ridesharing events.
