Idemia releases multi-modal biometric tablet for mobile ID enrollment, verification
Idemia has released a third-generation multi-app biometric tablet for user enrollment and identity verification, the company announced.
Leveraging the technology and experience achieved through previous deployments, ID Screen delivers connectivity and automation for multiple use cases such as citizen registration, voter verification, identity verification at borders, ID document checks, customer onboarding, eKYC, access control and time and attendance, according to the announcement.
The tablet can be used for enrollment through fingerprint or facial recognition, document holder verification, local or remote processing, and digital ID creation by banks or telecom operators. It has an e-ID card contact slot, supports fingerprint scanning with an optical sensor, MRZ scanning, e-ID card NFC scanning, and e-passport NFC scanning.
The ID Screen runs Android 10.0 OS and a 2GHZ Quad Core processor, with a light-weight ergonomic design, and features enhanced connectivity and a long battery life for use in any environment, the company says. In addition to biometric capture features, it is equipped with contact and contactless card readers and an eight-MegaPixel camera with dual LED illumination to enhance ID enrolment and verification.
Idemia and Sopra Steria recently signed a major EU border biometrics contract for a new Entry/Exit System.
