U.S. health insurer to use VoiceVault’s biometrics solution

Your voice is your biometric signature.

This is the principle behind the VoiceVault voice biometric e-signature solution.  VoiceVault’s biometric voice-based solutions rely on the uniqueness of individual’s voice to enable the delivery of data and application access control, transaction authorization, identity verification, e-signature provision and out of band authentication solutions.

VoiceVault has been selected by one of the top 5 U.S. health insurance companies for processing and approving applications for health insurance over the phone using voice signatures.  With this new addition, VoiceVault is now servicing three of the top five U.S.-based health insurers, which combined, insures over 174 million people.

Phone and smartphone-based transactions have increased for companies that use voice signatures in processing health insurance. Closure rates went up by over 25 percent, and companies are able to save up to 80 percent compared to companies using the usual handwritten signatures, with loads of papers to sign.

Utilizing voice signatures has no legal impediments as it is binding to use voice as your e-signature under E-SIGN Section 106.

Julia Webb, VP of Sales and Marketing for VoiceVault, said the use of voice signature solutions allows the company to position itself as a key resource for insurers who are preparing for the migration of consumers from small groups to individual plans as part of U.S. healthcare reform.

“Efficient application processes are critical as health insurers prepare for the massive consumer migration,” said Webb.  “Our voice signature solutions are ideally positioned to make the process easier for both the consumer and the insurer.  This new contract is yet another validation of the value of being able to generate a legally binding signature over the phone.”

VoiceVault’s biometric voice-based solutions rely on the uniqueness of individual’s voice to enable the delivery of data and application access control, transaction authorization, identity verification, e-signature provision and out of band authentication solutions.

Is using your voice as your e-signature more convenient when you deal with your health insurer?
