Animetrics joins international biometrics association

Animetrics recently joined the International Biometrics & Identification Association (IBIA).

IBIA is a trade association that promotes the effective and appropriate use of technology to determine personal identity and enhance security, privacy, productivity and convenience for individuals, organizations and governments, according to its mission.

Its key focus is the use of technology, and specifically biometrics, in determining identity. The association aims to provide a forum for exchanging information and ideas, resolving issues and establishing policy. It also strives to connect complementary organizations and standards bodies.

The association’s membership draws from a variety of international stakeholders – consumers and providers of technologies and solutions for identification verification, as well as technology and standards associations; and policy, academic and research institutions.

Animetrics said in a statement that it joined the association due to the firm’s desire to “becoming part an international community of like-minded professionals dedicated to expanding, extending and championing facial biometric technology worldwide.”

Animetrics is a leading developer of next-generation 2D-to-3D face recognition and face creation solutions.
