India issues limited tender for biometric technology

Categories Biometrics News

Today is the last day to bid on a limited tender from the Indian government that calls for 130 terminals for the application of “best finger detection technology”.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) through its regional offices proposes to perform “best finger detection” of Aadhaar holders.

To conduct the detection, UIDAI will need to procure devices and required client applications. Alongside the application, UIDAI also requires an authentication client application which may be used for Aadhaar authentication.

The selected bidder will need to further integrate its authentication and client applications with the identified authority’s server application.

The selected bidder’s technology would be used to conduct various biometric pilots and studies  through each of the regional offices.  Learn more about the tender.
