Winter Biometrics Summit agenda now available

 

The Winter Biometrics Summit, taking place March 4-7, 2013, in Miami, Florida, announced its detailed agenda today.

This event, held since 1999, is focused on practical deployment strategies, market trends and best practices in government and business.

Monday March 4 hosts the pre-conference workshops, which will provide the opportunity to network with fellow attendees while taking a hands-on approach to mastering biometrics and gain an enhanced understanding of the case study presentations throughout the conference.

The morning workshop, titled “Biometrics 101: Understanding Biometric Technology And Its Implementation” will prepare attendees for the rest of the conference by providing fundamentals of biometrics, biometric modalities, devices and scanners, concepts and terminology.

The afternoon workshop is called “Implementing Biometrics: A Step-By-Step Process To Ensure Project Success” and will teach best practices for biometric system implementation, and will be lead by Walter Hamilton, a senior consultant with Identification Technology Partners (http://www.idtp.com/).

Tuesday March 5 and Wednesday March 6 will be comprised of several general sessions with refreshment and networking breaks.

Thursday March 7 will host two more workshops, “Biometric Authentication: Its Use And Integration With Passwords, Smartcards, PKI, And Other Technologies To Strengthen Access Control” lead by Catherine J. Tilton, VP for standards and emerging technologies at Daon (www.daon.com), and “How To Prepare For The Future Of Biometric Systems”, lead by Joy Smith, program manager at IBG (https://ibgweb.com/).
