FIDO Alliance president and Paypal CISO Michael Barrett to keynote Voice Biometrics Conference

Opus Research has named another keynote this year’s for the Voice Biometrics Conference, set to take place May 8-9 in San Francisco: FIDO Alliance president and Paypal CISO Michael Barrett.

Barrett will show a new authentication approach advocated by the FIDO Alliance as a part of the opening keynote, which is intended to open a wide variety of application possibilities by simplifying authentication processes while reducing fraud.

The Voice Biometrics Conference is an annual meeting place highlighting the latest developments and deployments to promote security and personalization for consumer electronics and mobile devices as well as e-commerce oriented contact centers.

This year’s conference promises to tackle topics including Barclay’s use of passive authentication in contact centers, Turkish wireless carrier Avea registering more than 1.3 million voiceprints for customer verification, the FIDO Alliance, multi-factor systems, and mobile and consumer authentication solutions.

“More and more of everyday life is now mobile,” explains Dan Miller, conference chair and founder of Opus Research. “Application developers, device makers and service providers need to know how multi-factor authentication, including voice, work together to promote fast, easy and strong user authentication.”

Voice Biometrics Conference will be held at the Fairmont San Francisco, May 8-9, 2013. Venue and up-to-date program information is available on the conference website.

Reported previously, Matt Smallman, of Barclay’s Wealth and Investment Management will present a keynote case study at the conference.
