CACI gets $9.7 million contract modification to support DoD biometric programs

 

The Department of Defense has modified an existing contract with CACI International, adding an additional $9.7 million for program management and engineering services, in regards to the DoD’s biometric programs.

Reported in Washington Technology, this modification brings the total value of the CACI contract to $43.4 million.

According to the report, funds were due at the time of the award, but there is no word on whether they will expire at the end of fiscal 2013.

Reported previously in BIometricUpdate.com, AOptix, along with CACI, landed a research contract form the Department of Defense to examine its Smart Mobile Identity biometrics identification package and to eventually provide the department with a smartphone solution for scanning biometrics.

Recently, CACI announced its first accredited ISO 28000 certification in the United States ensuring supply chain security management.
