SpeechPro and Voxeo Corporation ink partnership

SpeechPro and Voxeo Corporation have announced a partnership to deliver SpeechPro’s VoiceKey Intelligent Voice Authentication solution to customers using Voxeo Interactive Voice Response services.

VoiceKey is a speaker recognition platform which uses a fusion of text-dependent and independent voice biometrics deliverables with a flexible application platform.

“It’s time we call a truce to the war between stronger and more complicated authentication methods and the consumer demand for a better customer experience,” Alexey Khitrov, President of SpeechPro USA said. “The partnership between SpeechPro and Voxeo accelerates and eases the path to a better customer experience and more security using voice biometric authentication, available to any Voxeo customer on an on-demand basis.”

According to the company, once a customer enrolls their voice in the system, they only need to state the passphrase and one other piece of identifying information before being granted access.

“Voice authentication is becoming a key component of customer service as more companies strive to better protect customer data and identify fraudsters,” John Amein, senior vice president of product management for Voxeo said. “We are very pleased that SpeechPro’s VoiceKey is interoperable with Voxeo’s technology, as it is another weapon in our arsenal to offer a better, more secure customer experience.”

As we’ve previously reported, voice biometrics are a growing focus in the biometrics community. Nuance Communications has unveiled the results of its own surveys measuring consumer attitudes and preferences for identification and authentication when accessing accounts and interacting with customer service, and the company has found a strong trend towards a preference for voice biometrics.

McAfee recently announced its LiveSafe service, which includes facial and voice recognition security technology.
