Suprema nabs innovative product award at MIPS
Suprema has just won an award for best innovative product in ‘protection, security and fire safety’ from the MIPS conference in Moscow for one of its access control and visitor management systems.
The awards for technical solutions ‘best innovative product’ is held annually within MIPS and winner’s equipment is listed in a governmental list of recommended products, which means these companies can sell directly to equipment installers and end-users without going through lengthy certification processes.
MIPS is an exhibition devoted to security safety and the fire safety industry, held annually in Moscow.
“We are very proud to receive such [a] prestigious award, which recognizes both technological and practical innovations in access control systems that we provide.” Jae Won Lee, Suprema’s president said. “In my opinion, the biometric market is currently in the flowering stage and there is more potential and possibility of pioneering the niche markets. Therefore, we will stay committed in developing technologies and expand our products’ portfolio in order to increase competitiveness in overseas markets.”
Reported previously, Suprema had a powerful year in 2012. The company recently announced that its 2012 revenue rose 25% year-on-year and its net profit increased 148% from 2011. According to the company, the strong growth of security systems over the company’s worldwide sales channel made a major contribution to the company’s success. Also to be owed some credit is the surging demand for face recognition and its identification solution for government sectors.
