Morpho and BIDV sign agreement on strategic collaboration
Morpho and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) have announced a new partnership to enhance IT security and skill development of the Vietnamese bank.
According to Morpho, under this agreement, the company will promote the use biometrics, payment and digital identity management technologies and solutions at BIDV.
“With this agreement, Morpho will give BIDV innovative solutions that will provide Vietnamese citizens with services combining security and ease of use,” Philippe Petitcolin, Chairman and CEO of Morpho said. “It also reflects Morpho’s strategy for the continued development of our business in the Asian banking sector.”
According to recent research, Morpho, along with Gemalto, Giesecke and Devrient, and Oberthur Technologies currently dominate the global market for ePassports.
Reported previously, Morpho was recently given a ten-year extension to its contract providing identity document management services in Albania.
Last year, the Mekong Development Bank in Vietnam released a biometric debit card in an attempt to encourage greater investment.
