Datacard Group will speak at the Connect:ID conference in Washington, DC, later this month.

The conference is set to take place March 17-19, 2014 and promises a focus on all aspects of human identity and identification technologies – including biometrics, secure credentials and digital identity systems.

According to Datacard, Mary Olson, senior marketing manager, global government solutions for Datacard Group, will be presenting on “Security at Time of Personalization: Adding Variable Security Features to Reduce Risk in Secure Identification Documents” on March 18th at 5:00 p.m. This presentation will provide a brief overview of how specialized card personalization techniques and technologies can reduce counterfeiting and forgery by employing variable data and overt features to increase overall program security.

“Security remains a major concern in identification documents and previously trusted ways of creating secure identity documents are now being threatened,” Olson said. “We are pleased to present this new methodology – created by Datacard Group – that will help issuers understand the variable security technologies that help mitigate the risk of ID document attacks, encourage strong first line verification, and help defend against mass counterfeiting and component theft.”

According to the company, it will also exhibit solutions at its booth, stand 306.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, earlier this year, Datacard Group announced that it had acquired Entrust Inc., a digital identity management and security company.
