The Biometrics Institute has launched its annual Industry Survey, asking members and stakeholders to provide input on the current status and expected future development of the biometrics industry.

“The biometrics industry is going through some interesting changes with some of the innovation seemingly coming from outside the industry,” Isabelle Moeller, Chief Executive of the Biometrics Institute says, “so it will be interesting to capture the thinking of the biometrics world and gauge personal levels of uptake”.

“This year therefore includes some revised and new questions to better reflect the changing market place for biometrics, plus we have added some more personal questions at the end.”

2014 is the fifth year the Institute has published the survey, which assesses trends and developments in biometrics and aims to provide projections and expectations for the performance of the industry in the year.

The survey can be accessed from the Biometrics Institute website. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BIIndustrySurvey2014

According to the group, interim findings of this year’s survey will be presented at the Biometrics Institute Asia-Pacific Conference, taking place 28-29 May, 2014 in Sydney; a detailed briefing will be given at the Biometrics Institute member meeting in London on June 26, 2014; and a full briefing will be given at Biometrics 2014, set to take place 21-23 October, 2014 in London.

Last month the institute published a statement advocating for tighter collaboration between border agencies and the aviation industry.
