American Systems names former FBI Laboratory director the new VP of identity intelligence

 

American Systems announced it named former FBI Laboratory director Dr. Joseph DiZinno the new VP of identity intelligence.

Dr. DiZinno will apply his experience in identity analytics to provide oversight and guidance for the continued expansion of American Systems’ identity intelligence practice.

In this role, Dr. DiZinno will serve American Systems’ customers that comprises its national markets, including counterterrorism, Homeland Security, federal law enforcement, and federal healthcare programs.

“Adding a renowned expert of Dr. DiZinno’s caliber to our Identity Intelligence practice at American Systems is significant,” said Peter Smith, president and CEO of American Systems. “His experience in this area is quite impressive and has been recognized nationally and internationally throughout the identity community. We have several large upcoming opportunities within the Identity Intelligence area, and he will play a key role in these pursuits.”

Dr. DiZinno worked with the FBI for 22 years, initially joining the federal agency as a special agent before eventually working his way up to section chief.

He was later promoted to director of the FBI Laboratory where he was in charge of more than 550 personnel, providing forensic examinations, technical support, expert witness testimony, and training to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

Finally, Dr. DiZinno provided oversight and technical direction for BAE Systems’ Homeland Security and Law Enforcement sector and led federal efforts with rapid DNA identification technology firm IntegenX.

Dr. DiZinno also serves as an assistant professor at George Mason University.
