BIO-key provides fingerprint authentication solutions to three new eye care customers

BIO-key International announced it is providing fingerprint authentication solutions to three additional eye care customers – Eyecare Medical, Hollingshead Eye Center, and I Care San Antonio – bringing its total number of U.S. customers to 57 eye care centers.

BIO-key has partnered with Medflow and Davlong to provide these fingerprint authentication solutions to the new customers.

These new customers join BIO-key’s growing roster of customers which include AT&T, McKesson, FBI, US Courts, LexisNexis, and NCR, along with leading hospitals and blood centers.

“Our customers recognized that entering a password each time they updated a patient record was cumbersome and negatively impacted their workflow,” said Jim Messier, vice president of sales and marketing at Medflow. “When we demonstrate how fast they can authenticate using BIO-key technology; most are eager to eliminate the use of passwords in favor of using their biometric.”

BIO-key’s strong authentication solutions offer a high level of security, enabling customers and partners to reduce their risk, enhance the value of their assets and reduce operating and maintenance costs.

The company’s one touch fingerprint ID enhances security, improves workflow, decreases stress, meets compliance requirements and generates extra revenue by optimizing patient interactions.

“We believe the recent wins validate our investment in the healthcare market at all levels as we grow our sales through strategic partners to hospitals, clinics and physician practices,” said Mike DePasquale, BIO-key’s chairman and CEO. “We recently added two new healthcare sales resources in support of our partners that have a significant presence in the EMR/EHR space.”

“Together with Medflow and Davlong we’ve developed a lengthy list of customers and testimonials; therefore the next step includes leveraging that success by making every potential prospect aware of the opportunity to improve their security and workflow.”

In another customer announcement, NCR Corporation recently expanded its use of integrated BIO-key fingerprint authentication solutions through several national retail chains, including Wendy’s and Arby’s.
