Lenovo to release new biometric band that unlocks computer without entering a password

 

Lenovo will soon release the Smartband SW-B100, a new biometric wearable equipped with various fitness features and has the ability to unlock your computer, according to a report by CNET.com.

According to its website, the Lenovo Smartband SW-B100 is “for young people who take care of their personal health and are interested in new tech trend products.”

The Lenovo Smartband tracks daily exercise including the number of steps you walk, the total distance you cover and your heart rate during this activity.

The Smartband also monitors the quality of your sleep by collecting data on your daytime activity and nighttime inactivity and recording the information in daily, weekly and monthly graphs.

The device also enables users to automatically log in on their computer without entering a password, and displays all call and text alerts, along with appointment and exercise reminders.

Users are able to customize their notifications “to improve both work and life efficiency.”

The Lenovo Smartband SW-B100 is available in blue or orange and is compatible with Android 4.3 and above, and iOS 7.1 and above. Lenova has yet to announce a release date or price.
