MedixSafe releases new biometric reader for narcotics lockers and cabinets

Narcotics cabinet manufacturer MedixSafe announced it has released Guardian 2, a new biometric scanner that significantly increases the complexity of security credentials.

Equipped with new features, the new biometric scanner provides fast and easy access for both the user and administrators.

MedixSafe Guardian 2’s narcotics inventory management feature tracks inventory by time, date, and personnel, assists with inventory ordering, and increases accountability and compliance.

Administrators can remotely access the scanner on a “who, what, where, when, and why” basis, as well as provide records and documents for DEA and AHJ’s.

Other features of Guardian 2 include MedixSafe’s proven and field tested products and system, fast fingerprint identification (3,000 prints in 1 second), real time email notifications to smart phone or PC, easy network integration using wireless network, and remote access to any of MedixSafe’s six cabinet sizes.

As the ambulance trade’s first, simplest dual and triple access security solution, MedixSafe M-series incorporates biometrics, proximity card readers and PIN pads.

MedixSafe’s cabinets range from the smallest size (MS-series at only 8″ wide x 7″ tall x 10″ deep), all the way up to the largest (the S-series at 48” high x 40” wide x 29.5” deep).

The S1 has two separate compartments, which can be individually programmed with completely separate user credentials.

This functionality offers complete separation for the daily use of the compartments while maintaining a higher level of security for back-up quantities.
