RightPatient, HealthCast provide combined biometric patient identification and SSO solution to healthcare firms

RightPatient and HealthCast, Inc. are partnering to provide a combined biometric patient identification and patient safety platform with single sign-on (SSO) solution to healthcare providers.

The combined solution will enable healthcare providers to simplify and secure access to personal health information (PHI), automate workflows, eliminate duplicate medical records, prevent fraud, and increase operational efficiency.

Additionally, the solution enables healthcare firms to meet the rising demand for patient and clinician safety and security solutions that can help to improve the care experience, improve the health of populations, and reduce per capita costs of healthcare.

RightPatient offers seamless interfaces for all major electronic health record (EHR) systems and customers, in which it collectively processes over 30 million annual patient visits.

The platform uses different biometric matching methods to accurately identify patients at various points of the healthcare cycle, including hospitals, clinics, physician offices, patient portals, and mHealth apps.

The solution offers considerable cost-savings by preventing duplicate medical records and identity fraud, while reinforcing patient safety and protecting sensitive personal health information (PHI).

HealthCast’s software was recently recognized as the #1 KLAS SSO solution, providing clinicians with fast, convenient, and secure access to healthcare applications to streamline clinical workflow, and protect sensitive, private patient information.

The solution integrates with all health information systems as well as supports the different authorization forms including biometrics, proximity badges, and secure tokens.

Healthcare providers can also use the HealthCast SSO platform to meet two-factor secure identification authorization requirements for the electronic prescription of controlled substances (EPCS).

By partnering together, RightPatient and HealthCast will provide an effective patient safety and data integrity solution to safeguard PHI, improve the quality of care, and boost the overall patient/caregiver experience.

“Patient safety and EHR data integrity continue to be critical components of a healthcare organization’s strategic objectives, especially in the new era of increased interoperability,” said Michael Trader, co-founder and president of RightPatient. “Our strategic alliance with HealthCast provides healthcare organizations with the opportunity to concurrently leverage our best-of-breed patient identification solution with an industry-leading SSO platform to improve patient safety and ensure high levels of data integrity for optimized clinical outcomes and reduced costs.”
