Precise Biometrics names CFO, integrates Precise BioMatch Mobile in four new smartphones

Precise Biometrics announced it has named Tommy Nilsson the company’s new CFO.

Nilsson, who has served as interim CFO of Precise Biometrics since June 1, will also be a member of the management team.

”Tommy has many years of CFO experience from different companies and has the relevant competence and energy to contribute to a positive development of Precise Biometrics’ business,” said Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. “We welcome Tommy to Precise Biometrics and its management team as the permanent CFO.”

Nilsson has served in several interim management positions, including CEO and CFO at EVRY Shared Service Center, BRIO, Purac, and Malmö Aviation.

He has also held permanent management positions, including director/VP of finance and controller at Electrolux, Ericsson, Pharmacia and Mars.

Precise Biometrics also announced that it has partnered with Fingerprint Cards (FPC) to integrate its mobile fingerprint recognition product, Precise BioMatch Mobile, in four smartphones from two new manufacturers.

Precise BioMatch Mobile allows for a seamless integration of fingerprint matching functionality for smartphones and tablets, and is optimized for small touch sensors in mobile environments through the company’s patented hybrid algorithm.

The software quickly, accurately, and securely verifies the user’s identity, ensuring a seamless user experience for consumers when unlocking their mobile device or authenticating to services, as well as delivering greater security.

“We welcome additional users of Precise BioMatch Mobile,” said Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. “It is interesting with such strong launches from manufacturers of Android smartphones outside Asia. This strengthens our global presence and we are confident that they with Precise BioMatch Mobile have found an excellent solution for their new smartphone models.”

Previously reported, Precise Biometrics entered an agreement with Taiwanese sensor manufacturer JP Sensor Corporation to license the company’s fingerprint recognition products, Precise BioMatch Embedded and Precise BioMatch Mobile.
