Ideal Innovations conducts facial identification training course in support of the Romanian Government
Biometrics and forensics solutions provider Ideal Innovations, Inc (I3) recently completed a 10-day facial identification training course in support of the Romanian Government.
The topics covered included a backgrounder on the study of facial comparisons, skeletal and muscular structures of the head and face, the role of dermatology and hair growth in facial comparisons, age progression, and comparison methodologies and techniques.
The training allowed the students, who are highly capable in digital forensics, to increase their competency in comparing facial images.
The training was developed and conducted by Lora Sims, Chairman of the Facial Identification Scientific Working Group (FISWG) and the Facial Identification Subcommittee of the Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC). The program reflects the latest thinking and procedures that will be incorporated into the forthcoming certification of face examiners by the International Association for Identification (IAI).
Sims is a Senior Biometric Examiner at the US Department of Defense Forensic and Biometric Agency, an IAI Certified Tenprint Examiner, and a member of the Face Identification subcommittee of the IAI’s Science & Practices Committee.
