Mountain America Credit Union provides dual-biometric authentication option for members

Mountain America Credit Union is the first financial institution in the US to offer a dual-biometric authentication solution for its members. Members can login to the mobile app using Apple’s Touch ID and Eyeprint ID from EyeVerify.

Eyeprint ID technology uses a mobile device’s camera to image and then pattern match the blood vessels in the whites of a user’s eyes, providing highly accurate, fast and convenient mobile authentication.

Mountain America CU launched their dual biometric login with Eyeprint ID and Touch ID earlier this year and it has been met with positive feedback from both customers and employees.

“People don’t want a tedious process to log in to their mobile banking,” said Shelby Peterson, manager of product strategy for online/mobile services at Mountain America Credit Union. “They just want to get in there and do their business and get out. That’s what mobile is about, right?”

In a recent video, Peterson discusses Mountain America’s use of biometrics and EyeVerify’s Eyeprint ID.

Previously reported, EyeVerify will demonstrate the most recent version of its Eyeprint ID mobile biometric authentication solution at FinovateEurope, held on February 9-10, 2016 in London.
