Precise Biometrics announces new smartphone integration, licensing agreement

Precise Biometrics announced a new agreement with Shanghai OXi Technology Ltd for licensing of Precise Biometrics’ solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile.

The licensing agreement will generate royalty revenue based on sales of fingerprint sensors from OXi that includes Precise BioMatch Mobile. The agreement includes a limited initial fixed fee for

the right to integrate and use Precise Biometrics’ software and for support and maintenance, which is recognized starting from the fourth quarter 2015.

“The agreement with OXi strengthens our position as the leading independent supplier of fingerprint software for mobile devices,” says Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. “OXi is a Chinese vendor with a very innovative sensor technology.”

New smartphone integration

Precise BioMatch Mobile has — through its agreement with Silead — been integrated in a new smartphone from an unnamed Indian smartphone manufacturer.

Back in May, Precise Biometrics signed a licensing agreement with Chinese fingerprint sensor manufacturer Silead to include Precise Biometrics´ fingerprint software, Precise BioMatch Mobile, into its products portfolio.

The integration will generate license revenue starting from the fourth quarter 2015. The value of license revenue is based on the number of sensors Silead delivers to the manufacturer.

”We are pleased that yet another vendor has chosen Precise BioMatch Mobile,” commented Precise CEO Persson. “Precise Biometrics fingerprint software is now integrated in products from over 20 vendors and has become the preferred choice to ensure a superior user experience and secure identity verification on mobile devices.”
