Biometrics firm BIO-key completes Microsoft Windows 10 roadshow

Microsoft’s biometric solution partner BIO-key International, Inc. announced the successful completion of a 12-city roadshow with Microsoft, which featured BIO-key’s fingerprint scanners and software solutions as part of the U.S. launch of Windows 10 for Business and Office 2016.

Microsoft featured BIO-key as its only biometric solution partner on the highly successful launch and the company reports that more than 40 percent of attendees met with BIO-key and requested engagement regarding BIO-key products for Windows 10 and Hello, Microsoft’s native biometric logon option.

Using BIO-key’s compact fingerprint scanner for Windows 10 and Hello, users can benefit from a more personal and secure authentication experience.

BIO-key’s line of scanners work natively with Windows 10 by simply plugging them into a USB port. BIO-key also provides advanced solutions for enterprise users of its biometric technology requiring integration with Active Directory or public/private clouds, using the same, low-cost scanners.

“BIO-key applauds Microsoft’s vision in making biometrics native to Windows 10,” stated Mike DePasquale, chairman and CEO, BIO-key. “We are thrilled with the positive reception we received at the Microsoft launch events, and are actively engaging with dozens of Fortune 100 companies that attended and want to know more about our solutions. Together with Microsoft, BIO-key allows Windows 10 users to experience the convenience and security of Windows Hello without first having to upgrade their hardware. BIO-key developed SideSwipe, EcoID, and our entire line of compact fingerprint readers as a catalyst for the adoption of fingerprint authentication by providing a low-cost option for enhancing existing laptops and tablets. Our biometric technology represents one of the rare opportunities for IT to increase security while enhancing user experience and reducing password reset costs.”

Just last month, BIO-key Chairman & CEO Michael DePasquale updated its shareholders on the company’s progress and outlook, calling the past year “a period of unprecedented growth and transformation for our company, our portfolio of biometric solutions and our geographic reach”.
