Wells Fargo mobile biometric authentication application wins banking industry award

Wells Fargo has been recognized with the “Most Innovative Feature Award” for its mobile biometric authentication application in its Commercial Electronics Office (CEO) portal by Barlow Research’s 2016 Monarch Innovation Awards.

Barlow Research Associates, Inc. was founded in 1980 to provide research and consulting services to the banking industry in the U.S. and overseas. BRAI specializes in custom research, strategic consulting and syndicated research programs in small business, middle market and digital business banking.

Wells Fargo has combined multiple biometric characteristics to significantly improve security while simplifying the user experience for mobile banking access. Wells Fargo offers two new biometrics options: face plus voice and eyeprint id. The authentication process takes less than 15 seconds to complete, making the CEO Mobile service easier and faster to use.

The Monarch Innovation Award nominations are scored based on uniqueness, stickiness, dependability, ease of use, value and their ‘wow’ factor. This year’s winners were rigorously judged by a panel of four jurists including: Robert Berini, Genpact, Ltd.; Bill Hippensteel, BAI; Nick Miller, Clarity Advantage Corporation, and; Mary Beth Sullivan, Capital Performance Group.

U.S Bank, BCSG and Xero also won Barlow Research’s 2016 Monarch Innovation Awards.
