Integrated Biometrics says its products are suitable for African marketplace

According to a recent statement by Integrated Biometrics, rising economic and population growth across Africa is driving increased demand for mobile biometrics for identity management enrollment and verification by government agencies, international organizations, law enforcement and commercial entities.

The company says its products including the Watson Mini, Kojak, and Columbo are suitable for Africa’s unique environment and work on dry and dirty fingers, in direct sunlight and can survive the toughest environments due to their durability and shock resistance.

The company says its products have advantages over optical-based fingerprint scanners with regards to size, weight, and performance. All Integrated Biometrics’ scanners employ its patented light emitting sensor (LES) film which is the only biometric technology that meets the stringent image performance requirements of the FBI in a “thin” form factor (less than 1 mm thick).

The unique attributes of LES film allow for integration of FBI Certified fingerprint scanners into smartphones, tablets or other mobile solutions which are all light and easy to carry. The diverse African environment, with its mix of forest, desert, and jungle is not conducive to heavy, cumbersome technology equipment.

Previously reported, Integrated Biometrics is sending key members of its leadership and technology team to discuss technological best practices with systems integrators and end users in government, financial, and healthcare marketplaces at multiple high-profile events in the U.S. and overseas this spring, including ID4Africa in Rwanda later this month.
