LG Stylus 2 Plus features IDEX touch fingerprint sensor Cardinal Q

LG has launched their new Stylus 2 Plus smartphone which features the IDEX touch fingerprint sensor Cardinal Q.

According to a statement by the company, the Cardinal Q and the newly released Cardinal N silicon sensor products have the smallest silicon footprints in the market for space challenged mobile fingerprint sensing form factors.

“We are very pleased to have our fingerprint sensor featured in a global LG smartphone. IDEX is one of a few fingerprint sensor vendors designed into a tier-1 mobile handset. This is a significant validation of the IDEX value proposition,” said Dr. Hemant Mardia, CEO of IDEX. “We are confident this will pave the way for additional design wins with our competitive sensor product portfolio in the coming quarters.”

Earlier this year, IDEX announced that it had successfully completed development of a flexible polymer touch sensor with image quality and performance criteria specifically designed for smart card and ID card applications.
