CLEAR biometric identity verification platform available at all three Washington D.C. airports
CLEAR have opened kiosks at Dulles International and Reagan National airports to quickly verify a traveler’s identity as part of the security screening process. Clear kiosks have been in operation at BWI-Marshall Airport for the last year.
In a report in Washington’s Top News, David Cohen, CLEAR’s chief administrative officer explained how the biometric identity verification platform works for registered users. “The verification process takes less than a second. Our technology will assess what the best biometric is, and will prompt you. it may be two fingers, it may be an iris, it may be your thumb.”
After the the passenger’s identity is verified, a Clear employee escorts the passenger to a TSA screener, without having to stand in line.
First-time user’s can register at the airport with a driver’s license, passport or other government-issued photo identification and a $179 annual fee to reduce time spent in security screening lines. Registration takes five minutes.
The CLEAR service is now available in 16 major airports.
