Synaptics and Precise Biometrics to provide fingerprint sensor technology for Alcatel smartphones

Synaptics recently announced a collaboration with TCL Communication to provide fingerprint sensor technology solution to its Alcatel smartphone customers. Precise Biometrics’ algorithm solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile, has also been integrated in the device.

Precise BioMatch Mobile is an algorithm solution for secure fingerprint recognition in smartphones and tablets. The unique and patented hybrid algorithm solution is optimized for small fingerprint sensors and platforms with limited processing power and memory.

”We are pleased to be integrated in this device through the cooperation with Synaptics. Precise Biometrics fingerprint software is integrated in products from over 30 vendors and has become the preferred choice to ensure a superior user experience and secure identity verification on mobile devices”, says Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics.

“We are pleased to have Synaptics as one of our fingerprint sensor suppliers whose wide range of solutions offer unique security features for Alcatel smartphone customers in the U.S. as well as our other global markets,” said Alain Lejeune, senior vice president and general manager of Worldwide Mobile Device, TCL Communication. “Synaptics’ authentication performance is well recognized by the industry and fulfills TCL Communication’s commitment to continuously providing consumers with an innovative and secured private mobile technology experience.”

“We very much value being a key fingerprint solution supplier to Alcatel smartphones, and we look forward to engaging on future projects with this innovative leader,” said Ritu Favre, senior vice president and general manager, Biometrics Product Division, Synaptics.

Just last month, Synaptics’ Natural ID fingerprint sensors were selected by ASUS for its flagship ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra smartphone series.
