Veridos wins Jordan passport contract

Veridos announced today that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has awarded the company a multi-year contract to produce and deliver machine-readable passports that meet the requirements set out by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for international travel.

“Giesecke & Devrient, one of our parent companies, has been providing passports to Jordan since 2012. We are very pleased that with this new contract the partnership can continue via Veridos,” said Veridos CEO Hans Wolfgang Kunz. Veridos is a joint venture between Giesecke & Devrient and Bundesdruckerei.

The first lot of the secure travel documents will be delivered to the Civil Status & Passport Department of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan before the end of this year. All components of the machine-readable passports are provided by Veridos.

Earlier this year, the General Directorate for National Security for the Kingdom of Morocco selected Veridos to design and implement a national border control system for all ports of entry, including the entire IT infrastructure necessary for the project.
