Intercede’s WordPress plugin offers users fingerprint login option

Intercede has launched RapID Secure Login (RapID-SL), a WordPress plugin that enables administrators and subscribers to log into websites and blogs with their fingerprints instead of usernames and passwords.

Available through the WordPress Plugin Directory, RapID Secure Login works with an Android or iOS app to provide high security authentication using 2048-bit cryptographic keys.

According to a company statement, to login with RapID-SL from a smartphone or tablet, users simply tap the QR code on screen and subsequently provide a fingerprint or PIN. To login from any desktop browser, users scan a QR code with RapID-SL on a smartphone. The app then delivers a cryptographic signature which logs the user in without having to enter any details into the browser. The integrated plugin can be installed onto WordPress without any coding or technical knowledge.

“Based on Intercede’s proven experience working with some of the most security conscious organisations in the world, this new Plugin provides users with a secure, easy to implement and simple to use authentication service for any WordPress site,” commented Intercede’s CEO, Richard Parris.
